San Bruno inspects PGE pipe site

By Marty Medina

Good Evening Alice,

This afternoon I met PG&E's contractor, CP Mears, outside City limits past the east end Angus Avenue. There is another gate with perimeter fencing approximately 300 feet east of the Angus Gate. The work site is located approximately 150 feet north of the end of the road . The site is surrounded by plywood fencing (see photos).

Ashlie Simpson/PG&E provided me with the following update, "A cathodic protection survey has shown that there is a casing along our transmission line that is contacting the pipe itself. The casing adds additional protection through that area. Crews will need to excavate the pipe to clear the contact. Then they will back fill the excavation. To complete this work by next Friday, as scheduled, crews will be working from 8:00am-5:30pm and will likely work this Saturday. Residents can expect a crew of between 10-15 people working with excavators and trucks. They can expect to hear drilling and construction noises during the work."

PG&E has been requested to provide notices to the residents along the east side of 7th Avenue.

If you have any questions please contact me.

Sincerely,

Marty Medina
Public Works Inspector
