6,900 San Mateo County residents lose power
By Joshua MelvinA downed power line briefly left about 14,000 San Mateo County residents in the dark Tuesday afternoon.
Service to about 3,000 homes in San Bruno was knocked out around 1:30 p.m. and crews had it fixed by 2:20 p.m., said Pacific Gas and Electric Co. spokesman Matt Nauman.
The outage included an area bordered by San Felipe and Huntington avenues as well as Interstate 280.
It appears a power line was knocked down, but it was not immediately clear why, Nauman said.
About 9,900 customers in Pacifica also lost power for about half an hour, but by 2 p.m. their service was working again.
