Build CHSR right! - Part 1
By Alan KandelI believe people should have a say in how California high-speed rail moves forward. Apparently, so does the new state HSR Authority Board CEO Roelof van Ark.
"The new CEO of the California High Speed Rail Authority promised in his first public remarks on Thursday to beef up the agency's staffing and look anew at the $43 billion project with an eye toward forming partnerships from the outside," the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal wrote.
"He said he will reach out to community groups, local leaders, industry leaders, politicians and others."
And by others, I presume this means potential users of the system are to be included in that group as well. And does "forming partnerships" not also imply that potential users of California high-speed rail will, as well, be able to "reach out" to the California High-Speed Rail Authority? I hope so and if that's the case, California High-Speed Rail Authority, I have a recommendation: Build CHSR right!
