Notice is hereby given that the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board will receive sealed bids until 2:00 P.M., December 22, 2009, for Contract No. 10-PCJPB-C-023 for the San Bruno Grade Separation Phase 2 - Box Culvert Reconstruction Project, per the Contract Documentts on file at the Office of the Director, Contracts
This public works project consists of reconstruction of the existing box culvert between the east side of the Caltrain Main Track 1 (MT1) and First Avenue, in the City of San Bruno and includes such measures as are necessary to secure the excavation (i.e. shoring), continuous flow at the culvert, and traffic control at First Avenue for the duration of the project.
The work is more fully described in the Contract Documents. The estimated cost of construction is greater than $2,500,000.
License requirements: Bidders bidding as the prime Contractor shall possess a valid California Contractor's General Engineering License at the time of bid opening and throughout the Contract term. The Contractor will also be required to ensure that all subcontractors working on the project hold valid licenses suitable for their trade.
This is a public works project subject to prevailing wage requirements. The prevailing wage rates established by the California Department of Industrial Relations are available at http://www.dir.ca.gov/DLSR/#PWD, or can be requested in hard copy format at the JPB's offices. Pursuant to Public Contract Code section 22300, the successful bidder may submit certain securities in lieu of the District withholding funds from progress payments (retention) during the Project. A pre-bid conference will be held prior to the date of bid opening. The pre-bid conference will take place on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the JPB Administrative Office, 1250 San Carlos Avenue, San Carlos, CA 94070. There will be a site visit immediately following the pre-bid conference. Notices on the room location will be with the Security desk and will be posted near elevators. The deadline for receiving questions and clarifications is 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Contract Documents (Volume I) and Drawings (Volume II) are attached in the "Open Contract Documents Area."
