BART says service is back to normalBy Henry K. Lee
BART says it has fully recovered from delays that plagued the system this morning after a mechanical problem in San Francisco briefly cut off service between the Montgomery Street station and Daly City.
A train operator reported electrical arcing on the tracks between the Civic Center and 16th Street Mission BART stations about 8:30 a.m., said BART spokesman Linton Johnson. Trains were turned around at Montgomery BART station as a precaution, he said.
The issue was resolved 20 minutes later, but delays of half an hour or longer were common throughout the system until about 11 a.m.
