BART operates Sunday schedule July 4
By David GollThe Fourth of July holiday that will be observed Friday means BART will operate its trains on a reduced Sunday schedule.
However, the Oakland-based transit agency will add cars on the Dublin/Pleasanton-Daly City line, or the blue line, as well as the Pittsburg/Bay Point-SFO line, or yellow line, to accommodate what are expected to be large crowds heading to a number of events in the West Bay.
Those include the baseball game at AT&T Park between those traditional National League rivals, the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers, beginning at 1:05 p.m., and a concert and fireworks exhibition at San Francisco's Aquatic Park, between Piers 39 and 45, during the afternoon and evening hours.
Officials of the Bay Area Rapid Transit District anticipate plentiful parking Friday at many of their 43 stations. BART operates trains along 104 miles of track in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
