San Mateo County Supervisor Adrienne Tissier has been appointed to head the committee responsible for recommending funding projects to the regional Metropolitan Transportation Commission, according to an aide in Tissier's office.

By unanimous vote, Tissier was chosen to lead the MTC's Programming and Allocations Committee for 2007-2008, spokesman Bill Chiang reported.

Among the committee's responsibilities is allocating funds for Bay Area transportation projects as part of the $40.1 billion statewide infrastructure bond measure passed by voters in November, according to Chiang.

Tisser has represented San Mateo County on the MTC since 2006 and is currently vice president of the Board of Supervisors, where she represents the Daly City, Colma, Brisbane and Broadmoor communities.
