A 24-year-old man sustained major injuries in a crash early Sunday morning when he drove a motorcycle into a parked pickup truck in South San Francisco, according to the Police Department.
Officers responded at about 4:40 a.m. to the intersection of Brentwood Drive and Springwood Way on reports of a major injury collision, police said.
San Bruno resident Fernando Alves Teixeira Pinto, 24, was riding a motorcycle westbound on Brentwood Drive when he hit a pickup truck on Springwood Way, police said. Pinto had apparently taken the motorcycle, owned by a friend, for a test drive, police said.
Pinto apparently left a party at a home on Brentwood Drive to drive the motorcycle, and police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
Pinto was not wearing a helmet, and broke his arm and leg in the crash, police said. He was taken to a nearby hospital and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. |
