Caltrain service resumes after fatal crash
By Staff

All Caltrain trains are back on schedule this afternoon after a train fatally struck a pedestrian in Menlo Park this morning, causing hours of delays and cancellation of a special Giants train, according to a Caltrain spokeswoman.

Southbound train No 322 struck the pedestrian around 8:38 a.m. between Encinal and Glenwood avenues about a half-mile north of the Menlo Park station, spokeswoman Christine Dunn said. There are no crosswalks at that location, Dunn said.

Trains were delayed up to two hours throughout the morning and a train specially scheduled to take passengers to the San Francisco Giants home opener had to be canceled.

The San Mateo County coroner's office has not yet identified the victim of the incident.
