Caltrain crews to perform maintenance on tracks
By Staff

Construction crews will be performing routine maintenance work on a number of Caltrain stations beginning Sunday.

Crews will begin the reconstruction and realignment of the San Mateo Avenue crossing in San Bruno on Monday and finish Friday. In Burlingame, crews will close the railroad crossing at North Avenue from 8 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. March 3 to continue construction to the station platforms.

The California Avenue station will have crews grading and compacting areas for new platforms from Sunday through March 1 and crews will be grinding switches and replacing worn asphalt, rails, ties and ballast along the tracks between Sunnyvale and San Jose Sunday through March 1.

To avoid train delays, all work will be done between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., according to Caltrain. Some minimal noise and light will be unavoidable during construction.
