Caltrain to expand weeknight service
By Steve Rubenstein
Caltrain will expand evening weekday service with two additional trains between San Francisco and San Jose, effective March 3, the railroad said Tuesday.
Trains will depart both stations every hour on the half hour from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with a final southbound train leaving San Francisco at 12:01 a.m.
The new service will increase the schedule to 98 trains per weekday, the highest number in the 145-year history of Peninsula rail service, Caltrain said.
On Monday, Caltrain will open the new northbound platform at the historic Burlingame Station following a year of construction. The platform will have ticket machines and validators, and the tracks will be separated by a fence. |
