Person Found Dead On BART Tracks In Richmond
By Staff
The Bay Area Rapid Transit Richmond station reopened around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday following an incident that killed one person on the tracks, a BART spokesman said.
The incident was reported around 4:10 p.m. when a person was seen under a train, prompting the closure of the Richmond station, according to BART spokesman Linton Johnson.
The Contra Costa County coroner's office was able to remove the body from the tracks around 6:25 p.m. but the circumstances of the incident are continuing to be investigated, Johnson said.
Although Johnson said he didn't know how long delays would last, around 6 p.m. there were still delays systemwide of up to 15 minutes. |
