BART service restored after body found on tracks
By Roman Gokhman
A man's body was found lying along San Francisco-bound BART tracks at the Richmond station Tuesday afternoon and investigators are trying to determine if the man jumped or fell onto the tracks.
The body was discovered at 4:15 p.m., said BART spokesman Linton Johnson.
Johnson said that according to witnesses, the man jumped in front of an oncoming train.
"There is no evidence of foul play," Johnson said.
The Richmond station was closed for nearly three hours, with BART shuttling riders between the Richmond and El Cerrito del Norte station on buses. Service was restored about 6:45 p.m. |
