BART purchases new seats for 300 passenger cars
By Staff
The Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) board recently awarded a $2.7 million contract to National Transit Interiors Inc. to supply seats for up to 300 passenger cars.
Seats need to be replaced every two-and-a-half years, BART says. Workers previously installed an average of 320 worn-out seats per week. With the new contract, they'll now have enough new seats on hand to replace them at the same time crews install new floors on the cars. |
