By Staff
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority will get $12.1 million for improvements to two express bus lines, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger announced today.
In a news conference in Oakland near the entrance to the Transbay Tube, the governor also said that BART will get $24 million in state voter-approved bond money to strengthen the system against earthquakes and AC transit will get $15.6 million to replace old diesel buses.
In all, $394 million in allocations was announced today - the first part of money for public transit - improvements funded by Proposition 1B, which voters approved two years ago. |
