Weather delays arriving flights up to an hour at SFO
By Staff

Flights arriving to San Francisco International Airport are delayed up to one hour today due to rain, an airport duty manager said.

The delays started around 9:30 a.m. and are expected to last through 11 p.m. Arriving flights are delayed between 30 and 60 minutes, airport duty manager Mike Towle said.

"It's a hit-or-miss deal," Towle said. "Some of the flights are going to be affected and some aren't."

Lingering light rain throughout the Bay Area is hindering the arriving flights, according to Towle.

Departing flights are not affected by the weather, except to Chicago O'Hare International Airport where fog and low clouds are delaying flights from SFO up to an hour, Towle said.

Travelers are advised to check with their carrier before heading to SFO to ensure their flights are on time, Towle said.
