Two planes hit one another at SFO
By Tanya Schevitz

A United 757 jet backed into a small Sky West plane at San Francisco International Airport tonight, airport officials said.

The tails of the two planes touched and no one was hurt, said Airport Duty Manager Lily Wang. The incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. at Gate 80.

The United airliner was not carrying passengers and was being taken out of service to the hangar for the night when the accident happened. The SkyWest jet was carrying 56 passengers and headed to Boise, Idaho.

The passengers were evacuated from the plane and sent to local hotels and will be put on the first available flight in the morning, Wang said. The FAA will conduct an investigation, she said.
